Quotations from Lily Wong is a compilation of comic strips from The World of Lily Wong by American-born Hong Kong cartoonist Larry Feign. The strips, and hence the book, are a social commentary on life in Hong Kong. Since these are political cartoons, they would probably not be understood by anyone not familiar with Hong Kong culture and politics.

My favourite strip from the book is definitely this one:

Dialogue:
- Iranian hijacker: Attention! This plane is going to Iran, and you are all hostages!!
- Rudy: Oh no we ain’t!
- Iranian hijacker: Huh?! What did you say??!!
- Rudy: This plane is full of Hong Kong people. The British government won’t give a damn about us!
- Rudy: Besides, if we land in Iran, we’ll get out and buy up all the property, take the best jobs, fill the best places in the universities, sponsor our relatives to come, and soon Teheran’ll become another Toronto or Sydney!
- Iranian hijacker: Oh, well… never mind.
- Rudy: Think next time, dummy!
Iranians and Hong Kongers are similar in that they both have a habit of doing all of the activities listed by Rudy, not only in Toronto and Sydney, but in every city in which they are found in large numbers.
