I originally started davinci’s notebook to overcome my writer’s block in writing about science, the result of having been raised by abusive parents who punished me both for writing and for studying science throughout my life.
Since then, it’s evolved into a place where I write about whatever comes to my mind.

Sweet! So what happens if you never open the box???
Presumably, if the cat hasn’t already been poisoned, then either suffocation, dehydration, or starvation. As time approaches infinity, the amplitude of the “alive” state goes to 0 and that of the “dead” state goes to 1.
In Schrödinger’s original thought experiment, he actually specifies one hour as the time at which the probabilities of being alive and dead are equal.
